Emotional problems come in many shapes and sizes and don't always carry a particular label. A list of examples of emotional difficulties that I work with in my practice can be found here.

I tend to have a relaxed and approachable style, and use a variety of different therapeutic models, depending on what suits the person best.

Mental health
I work with a broad range of mental health difficulties and I have a particular interest in resolving emotions and beliefs that are keeping us stuck. Whether this relates to patterns of anxiety, depression, trauma or dissociation, the focus is on processing underlying material rather than managing symptoms alone.
Physical health
Chronic stress and unresolved emotional patterns are often held in the body and can directly influence our health. My work has a large focus on helping clients regulate their nervous system by releasing chronically held tension, and therefore reducing the overall load. Although this isn’t a medical treatment, helping the body down-regulate habituated stress-responses can help to support people managing medical conditions.
Personal development
My work is also suited to people who are functioning at a high level but want to resolve internal patterns that continue to interfere with performance, clarity, or direction. The work hones in on identifying and processing the underlying (subconscious) beliefs and responses that silently drive and influence our patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving.

Personal growth
I offer focused, goal-oriented therapy aimed at helping people move out of patterns of restriction, emotional pain and/or limitation, into beliefs and emotional states that feel much more aligned, free and authentic.
I track changes in the nervous system in real time and adjust the pace and focus accordingly. This allows for depth without overwhelm, and supports relatively quick shifts into more adaptive states.
My emphasis is on relevance and processing someone’s core issues as soon as can be tolerated. We work toward clearly defined areas of change, using targeted processing rather than open-ended exploration. Many clients find this approach reduces the overall time required in therapy.
Where appropriate, I teach adapted processing tools that can be used between sessions. This supports continuity of work and helps develop processing skills that can be used in self-guided practices.
