Emotional problems come in many shapes and sizes and don't always carry a particular label. A list of examples of emotional difficulties that I work with in my practice can be found here.

I tend to have a relaxed and approachable style, and use a variety of different therapeutic models, depending on what suits the person best.

Mental health
Emotional difficulties can take many forms and don’t always fit neatly into a diagnostic label. I work with a wide range of mental health concerns, including stress, anxiety, trauma, and depression.
Physical health
There is growing evidence that our physical health is closely connected to chronic stress, unresolved emotional patterns, and ongoing anxiety. Because the modalities I use naturally work with the nervous system, I have a particular interest in helping people regulate their stress in order to support the body getting back into balance. While this approach is not a replacement for medical care, it can be a powerful companion to it.
Personal growth and potential
Therapy can also be used to support personal growth and expansion. By identifying and resolving the negative beliefs and emotional blocks that keep us stuck, we can move more freely toward our goals and realise our full potential.

Personal growth
Alongside in-person therapy, I find it important to help people develop processing tools that can be used in daily self-guided practices. When appropriate, I teach simplified versions of EMDR, Brainspotting, and the Flash Technique so that clients can use these methods safely on their own between sessions. I am also trained in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness and follow the emerging research on Open Focus meditation. These meditative practices have been shown to support both mental and physical health, reduce stress, and increase our capacity to stay present with painful emotions. Meditation can also be used to mentally rehearse new ways of thinking and acting as we work toward change.
My aim is to help people adopt and integrate both meditation and therapeutic skills into their daily lives, so they can become increasingly self-sufficient in managing their mental and physical health.
